Cada entrada de esta lista contiene el nombre de un autor o editor, y una fecha. Una fecha seguida de — se refiere al primer volumen de una colección de varios volúmenes. En casos ambiguos, la fecha va seguida de una letra, que en la mayoría de casos está relacionada con el título de la publicación o con el nombre de la revista en la que apareció. Este nuevo convenio pretende tener una utilidad nemotécnica.

Como las revistas contenidas en esta lista pertenecen a disciplinas distintas, sus títulos no están tan abreviados como de costumbre.

Se incluyen pocas referencias generales, y la relación tampoco pretende, ni remotamente, una cobertura equilibrada ni completa de los diversos ámbitos tratados en esta obra.
