Las crónicas de la historia de Maida a las que me refiero son Maida, de Giuseppe Barone; Monografia di Maida, de F. DeFiore; e Il Feudo di Maida, de Antonio Parisi. Estas tres obras, traducidas al inglés por Kristin Jarratt, con la que estoy en deuda también por su talento como intérprete, constituyeron mis primeras guías al explorar la zona y su cultura ancestral durante mis abundantes estancias a primeros y mediados de la década de 1980.
